Ms. Melissa became interested in dance at a young age when she began her training at Titusville Ballet and Jazz Center in her home town of Titusville, FL. As she grew older, Melissa moved her focused to traditional Modern Techniques and Classical Ballet as she studied throughout the Central Florida area. Ms. Cowan later went on to receive her BFA from New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL where she performed works by Robert Battle, Sean Curran, Paul Taylor, and Annabelle Ochoa. In addition, she spent her summers studying at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and was on scholarship at The American Dance Festival. After graduation Ms. Cowan spent time exploring the diverse New York dance scene as a freelance dancer and choreographer. Now that Ms. Melissa has relocated west, she is excited to continue sharing her passion for dance with students and becoming an influencer within the community.
