Academy Information –
Please use this web site for any information on schedules, registration,
upcoming events, monthly newsletters, and important information, otherwise
we will post the information in the studio and it is your responsibility to
read the ‘board’ once a week.
As with any
new year we will be making adjustments as we grow. We realize that
there may be some changes in procedures that are new to you. We are here to
serve you, please
contact us with any questions or concerns that you might have. With
our 30+ years of experience in theatre, performance, choreography and
teaching, you can feel confident that we will provide you with an excellent
year long program that is safe, age appropriate, and fun. We are so excited
to get started! |
Tuition and Payments -
Tuition for classes can be paid annually, by semester or monthly. Semester
payments are due by September and January 10th. Monthly payments
are due the first of the month. All payments received after the 10th
of the month will be assessed a $10.00 late fee. Returned checks will be
charged a $30.00 returned check fee.
The annual fee is based on the number of hours
of weekly classes. As the number of weekly hours increase, the hourly rate
decreases. The Academy year runs from Sept to June. Each class is
guaranteed to meet 35 times during the year. If any class meets fewer than
35 times due to bad weather, a make-up class will be scheduled . When the
RAD classes are cancelled during exam week, the mandatory mock exam will be
the make-up class.
No monthly bills will be sent. It is your
responsibility to note your payment and the due date. A notice will be
posted on the door and notice bulletin board.
Students who are
registered for more than 6 hours of dance classes per week may take any
additional classes for free.
Families who are
registered for more than 8 hours of dance classes per week may take any
additional classes for free. The payment is based on the sum of
each child's class hours per week. This is for immediate family members
only. |

The Royal Academy of Dance
will be the base program of the Academy but not required. No extra
classes this year on weekends! Because we feel strong technique in
ballet provides the basis of any dancing, we are requiring every
Level 1 and higher student to take one ballet course (RAD or
Open) or one ballet session (1 semester long) course per
Academy year (Sept-June). Open classes are listed on the evening schedule. RAD students Grade 1 and up need to take 2 classes per week
and will participate in either an Exam or Class Presentation. Majors in the
Vocational program need a minimum of 3 classes per week.
Do you Hate Ballet?
Exams:
will be at the studio in Lafayette every year. Only mock exams will be scheduled
outside a normal schedule.
If
you do not see a class you wish to take, please
contact us. We will consider any suggestion. |

The Spring Concert will be at
Centarus High School each year, usually
the 1st or 2nd weekend in June. To participate in
a Spring Concert number you must register for that class by DEC 15th each
year. This allows the studio enough time to measure each student & order
costumes. Also it allows enough time for the student to learn the material
for the concert. It is at the discretion of the teachers of Reverence
Academy of Dance to determine if a student who has joined a class in January
is ready for the associated dance number in the Spring Concert.
Picture Day
will be at the studio. Please check at the desk or call for the dates &
times.
We are planning to do
a few
conventions and/or competitions per year. Those TBA at a later date.
We are teachers who continue our
own education to become better teachers by taking courses of international
standard.
We will have
an office attendant to address any questions or concerns during class hours! You
may
e-mail Miss Sheree or Miss Vera
with your concern, or access a
direct voice mail to leave a message. Please use this format to ask teachers
a question since they are busy during and between classes.
We will provide you with a
comfortable waiting area. Please respect the common area as you would any
other professional waiting area.

A uniform for each
class will be required. Hair must be up for all classes, and in a bun for
ballet – no exceptions.
Uniforms, and shoes may be viewed through our web site, or personally ordered
from Boulder Body Wear. Payment
is required in advance. To view the uniforms and costs, look on the
Class Attire page
on this Web Site. We will do our best to keep costs low, but quality high.
Classes during exam
week will be cancelled for the RAD program.
The mock exam acts
in lieu of that missed class.
We average the number of classes
per month eg. More in some months - November, May, January and less in
others- March, June, etc. therefore we charge a constant fee from August
to May. This average includes extra work we do for exam preparation,
competitions, dress rehearsal and concert and choreography. Many hours go
into these projects both by instructors and management.
Competitions Classes are year
long (Aug.-May).
They are offered in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Worship. Open auditions are the
first day of class in September. Exceptions may be made by the
choreographer. These classes are available only to students taking 2 ballet
classes per week.
We will
have an open house before the Christmas Break. Please plan to attend this
special event that highlights the progress made by students at the Academy. |
